Outdoor survival skills teach you 5 ways to use equipment to make fire

If I were asked to make a list of survival needs, I would rank the ability to properly make fires after water, refuge and food, and in some other cases I would put this before food and refuge.

Since it is so important to master the right way to light a fire, would you really rely on only one or two methods to light a fire? I think you should have at least 5 fire-producing items in your life renewal backpack or any item that prevents emergencies to survive.

It should be noted that I am not talking about different kinds of combustibles like cedar shavings, combustible wood, paper, etc. What I want to talk about is the method used in 5 to make the first spark. Without a fire, the rest is of no avail.

1, matches

Don't be surprised here. Check out matches that can be used in storm conditions. Just like these are very durable matches that I have checked out. If you go out with regular matches, please remember the following two important things:

1) They must be waterproof.

2) You need to keep your matches in multiple places. Even if you have a pile of waterproof matches, if you put them in the same backpack or box and you lose them, it's over. So use three or two empty film boxes or waterproof sealed bags and place matches in these.

2, multiple lighters

Note that there are multiple lighters. You need to prepare some lighters. It would be great to get a waterproof and windproof lighter and three or two lighters with cheap gas. If you can buy the above-mentioned good lighters, you should bring some butane filling fluid. This will allow you to extend the life of a lighter 5 times longer than before.

3. Fire stick and scraper

Fire sticks, scrapers, or anything else that can be made into flint are usually a section of tubular steel or magnetic metal. You can generate sparks when scraping these tubes with a metal scraper.

There are many reasons why having a pair of firing rods and scrapers is essential. First, they can be used even when wet. So if all of your other fire-making items are completely saturated or fail for some reason, the fire stick can still be effective. Moreover, its use time is likely to be longer than the combination of a match and a lighter. Many of the fire stick advertisements can be used 3000 times, and some claim that it can be used 7000 times

4, 9V battery and steel wool

This is one of my favorites among the must-haves in any survival equipment I think. If you hold a 9V battery and connect the two poles with steel wool, it can produce sparks.

Two points to remember: good quality steel wool is better. Moreover, this can be used to start a fire with just a little bit. And the steel wool should be enough to contact and cover the two poles of the battery.

5. Rub two metal rods at the same time

Rubbing two metal rods is the most clichéd survival strategy.
